Make it a weekend away. Sondela Nature Reserve sits just outside Bela-Bela on the edge of the Waterberg, about an hour from Pretoria, so pack the car and bring the family. The shorter routes are smooth, flowy and non-technical, perfect if you’re new to racing. Marathon riders get technical descents, game tracks and singletrack. Been thinking about stepping up a distance? The terrain here is forgiving, so this is a good one to try it on.
